This weekend I’ll be helping a friend look at her workout routine and sort out her dietary requirements. Her main goal, on top of a number of others, is weight loss. Whenever I’m approached about something like this, the key point that I try to get across to people is that to achieve their goals – a reevaluation of the things they eat is vital.

Each post this week has dealt with food in one way or another, and I thought it would be good to end the week with a little bit more specific information – so here’s what I’ll be sharing with my friend this weekend when we talk. I hope you find the metabolism-boosting food tip helpful as well…

These are the types of foods that will help boost your metabolism and cut pounds over a gradual period. Try them out and mix things up to get to flavors that you enjoy in proper portions!
I love these points from
Fitness Tips for Life…
- Each of these healthy weight-loss boosters fills you up and keeps you full longer on fewer calories.
- Water-rich fresh fruits, veggies and soup dilute the calories in your food and allow you to eat more without breaking the calorie bank.
- High-fiber fruit, vegetables and nutritious whole grains keep your digestive system on track and steady insulin levels, which prevents fat storage.
- Lean meat boosts metabolism and burns calories because it take more energy to digest than other foods.
If you maintain a proper diet along with a committed fitness routine – you’ll surely get to your goals. That’s the main point, along with this information, I’m going to try to get through to my friend this weekend. And I’ll be there with her for motivation each step of the way.
I’ll keep you all posted on her progress, and gladly share any information I share with her – with you all from time-to-time here on this blog and in FDF’s Facebook Page. Feel free to ask me any questions as I’m working along with my friend, or if you have any questions in general that you would like to get a personal trainer for – don’t hesitate to contact us using the form in the upper-right portion of this web page.
Have a nice weekend, and remember to eat with a purpose and in alignment with your goals!

Happy Monday everyone! I don’t know if you’ve seen the weather in the area lately, but it’s nice all around. I just came back from the East Coast and left 70 degree temperatures, and now here in the Midwest it’s a week of upper-70′s and lower-80′s. All of that said, I thought I’d share some healthy and delicious nutritional info with you from one of my favorite sites, EatingWell.com…

I know that we all like to keep our midsections slimmed down, but I’ll also be the first to admit that it’s not the easiest thing to do (especially in the world of processed foods we live in these days). That said, I’ve sort of made it my personal mission to share any good news related to weight loss that I see printed anywhere if I think it’s easy enough to digest (pun intended).
