We all try to lead healthy lives whether we confess to it or not. Whether you’re a a big time fitness-lover or someone who’s not so active, we all want healthy hearts, minds and bodies in general. Although we typically tell you about things related to the latter here on this blog, you have to keep your mind sharp to follow through with the things that we recommend for you through FDF.

Train your body - train your mind.
All of that said – I came across a great resource on Yahoo! Health yesterday mentioning
7 ways to boost your brain power. You can click the link in the preceding sentence to read through the full article yourself, but here’s the shorthand tips.
- Exercise – No surprise here from my end. We advocate healthy lifestyles here at FDF, and now you have another reason to give your trainers a thankful hug at the end of each workout
- Google Often – Contrary to popular belief, apparently spending time on the internet isn’t as bad for your brain as some would think (Haha – also another reason for you to visit this blog more often).
- Brush and Floss – This one did surprise me. Apparently there are ties between dental hygiene and mental health.
- Drink Sparingly – We encourage proper moderation here at FDF. When you exercise, when you work – and now, when you have a celebratory cocktail or two. Live happy, but moderate along the way.
- Eat Blueberries – Not calling this little fruit a “wonder berry,” but it does have its perks.
- Do Puzzles – Puzzles are great mental exercisers.
- Meditate – at some point a post will appear on this blog explaining more benefits of this useful technique.
I encourage you to check out the link near the beginning of this post just to take in the valuable information. Your brain will thank you later.
If you need any guidance related to specific elements of the listing above, feel free to contact us using the form in the upper-right portion of this web page. Someone will follow up with you shortly thereafter.
Have a nice day, and keep those minds sharp.

As I mentioned in the last post, the focus for this week is a shift in attitude to help you all become more successful at your workout goals. Well one thing that always sabotages people when it comes to training for themselves is an improper understanding (or total lack of knowledge) of the benefits of working out and general physical activity.

Keep in mind that regular physical activity can be fun too. Take this picture as an example -- when was the last time you went out and did some fun physical activity with your family?
While this listing I’m about to give you isn’t comprehensive, it’s a pretty accurate depiction of some of the best benefits for those who lead regularly active lifestyles…
- Exercise controls weight.
- Exercise combats health conditions and diseases.
- Exercise improves moods.
- Exercise boosts energy.
- Exercise promotes better sleep.
- Exercise puts the spark back into your sex life.
- Exercise can be fun.
The reason the above points are quoted is because I pulled them from an article by the Mayo Clinic. I want for people to understand that I’m not just making these benefits up out of thin air – but that they are in fact well researched and valid claims.
Don’t cheat yourself out of these benefits in 2012. If you’re ready to start a guided path towards your goal of a healthier you, contact us using the form in the upper-right portion of this web page. It’s at no cost to you, and we’ll gladly discuss whatever is on your mind pertaining to the benefits of exercise.
Have a nice day, and we look forward to hearing from you.
